Library Badges
Library badges are designed to celebrate your engagement with library resources and activities and to encourage thoughtful reflection on your experiences. By participating in a library activity and reflecting on it, you will deepen your understanding of how the activity contributes to your academic and personal growth.
To earn a library badge, enroll in our Library Badges Canvas Course.
- Choose Your Activity: Choose an activity from the list below to learn more about it and discover how to participate.
- Participate: Engage in the selected activity as instructed.
- Reflect: Return to this page to share your thoughts and reflections on the activity.
- Earn Your Badge: After submitting a thoughtful reflection that demonstrates your engagement with the activity, you’ll receive a badge to commemorate your participation. You can view all your badges by signing into the Canvas Badges Backpack.
- Share: Share your badge with your instructors, program coordinators, ePortfolio or LinkedIn profile.
How do I share a Library Badge with my Instructor?
Badges will first arrive in your email when they are awarded. Use this email to access your badge and share it with your instructor or other recipient.
There are multiple ways you can share a badge. The option you choose will depend on your instructor. For example, some instructors will accept an email, while others will want to see the badge in their Canvas courses.
Forward the badge email
- Check your email for a message from “Fullerton College Badging.” (Remember to check your Spam).
- You can forward this badge email to your instructor or other recipient.
Share the badge link
- At the bottom of your badge email, you will see a button labeled “Go to the Badge”.
- Click on the link to go to the badge on the Canvas Badge Backpack. You will need to sign in or create an account.
- Navigate to the Share button on the right-hand side.
- Copy the badge link and paste it in to an email or your Canvas assignment.
Download the badge
- At the bottom of your badge email, you will see a button labeled “Download”.
- Click the button. The badge will download to your computer.
- You can upload the badge to your Canvas assignment or share it as an attachment in your email.
Sharing through Canvas Credentials Portal
You can access your badges through the Canvas Badge Backpack at any time. They will be there even if you leave Fullerton College. You can view all your earned badges there, including those from other programs using Open Badges.
Through the Canvas Badge Backpack you can share your accomplishments on your LinkedIn Profile or get the embed code for your ePortfolio. Show off your badges to employers, internships, or other program administrators to as mini certificates of what you know.

Library Badges
FC Library badges award participation and accomplishment:
- Exploration – awarded to students who take initiative to explore the library and the resources it has to offer and reflecting on how it can support their academic journey.
- Information Literacy & Learning – awarded to students participating in information literacy instruction and reflecting on their learning.
- Community Engagement – awarded to students participating in library programming activities and reflecting on how they may relax, destress, and connect more with the campus or the students around them.
