Adaptive Equipment
Two adaptive computers are in the first floor research area near the Reference Desk. They are equipped with a scanner, JAWS, Zoomtext, and Open Book software. One has a Magnisight Video Magnifier attached to it. Two computers are dedicated to adaptive use. Priority for these terminals is for the disabled. These computers are available to users for one-hour.
Databases:
The library subscribes to several databases that offer an embedded text-to-speech toolbar for HTML (Full-Text) articles.
Media: Most class telecourse videos at the Reserve Desk are closed captioned. VCRs in the library have closed caption capability for viewing.
Elevator: The library elevator is adjacent the east side of the lobby, next to the Japanese Doll exhibit.
Classroom: The library classroom, room 827, has an adaptive computer, table, and scanner available for students with disabilities attending library instruction sessions.
Tours: Library tours for students with disabilities are available by scheduling an appointment with the Library Administrative Assistant at 714.992.7039.
