Reserve
Procedures
The
purpose of Reserve services is to provide student access to supplemental
course related materials. Please contact Efrain Villanueva at
ext. 25696 or Ché Hernandez at ext. 25679 if you have any
questions regarding the Reserve services offered to faculty and
students.
Please
notify your students that once the Library Reserve staff has received
Reserve material it takes 72 hours to process the material and
input the relevant data into the Library’s online Catalog, before
it is available for check out. Also, please notify your students
that they must have a current Campus ID card in order to check
out any library material, including all Reserve items.
Procedure for placing
material on Reserve
- Complete a
Reserve Request Form and deliver it to
the Circulation desk with your Reserve items. If you would like
us to send you a form please call Efrain Villanueva at Library
extension 25696.
- If an item you
request to be placed on Reserve is part of the Library’s circulating
collection, please take the material from the shelf and
turn it in with the Reserve
Request Form.
- If you are placing
personal copies on Reserve, please observe the following
recommendations:
- items
should be in “check out” form (for example place loose articles
in a binder)
- paperbacks
or fragile items should be reinforced.
- Be aware that
the library must attach “processing” materials, for example:
barcodes, tape, labels, etc. to your personal materials.
- Because storage
area is limited, please come by the Reserve Desk at the end
of each semester
to withdraw the materials not required.
- All Reserve material,
whether faculty or library owned, is subject to the Fair Use
Provisions of Title 17 Section 107 of the U.S. Copyright
law.
- All materials
placed on Reserve must have copyright permission.
