A comprehensive web site to music styles and artists; searchable by song, album, labels, styles and artists.

Andante.com
An online reference for classical music. Portions of the site require subscription.  Free is the Magazine which provides newsworthy articles on classical music and performances, and the Radio which plays selections from well-known works continuously.

Aria Database
A collection of information about opera and operatic arias, including translations and some area texts.

Ethnomusicology, Folk Music, and World Music
Maintained by the University of Washington Libraries, this site contains extensive links to print and audio files of music from around the world.

Musictheory.net
A collection of music theory tutorials. Lessons include staff, clef, and ledgerlines; note and rest durations; measures and time signatures; major and minor scales; and more.The site also has a chord calculator, staff paper, and matrix generators (utilities). The interactive exercises ("Trainers") for keyboard, guitar, brass, and ear include sight and audio recognition of otes, keys, chords, and other elements. The trainers and utilities may be downloaded.
