Mission
Statement of the William T. Boyce Library
Our
mission is to assist students, faculty, and staff attain their
educational and informational goals in a supportive library environment.
Goals
of the Library:
To
provide a collection of materials which supports the curriculum
and the information needs of the campus community and which
reflects the diversity of the population we serve.
To
provide complete and accurate access to the collection as
well as access to materials beyond the library walls.
To
provide appropriate instruction to patrons in the use of
library materials and library technology.
The
library
strives to attain these goals by providing individual instruction,
Library Instruction Sessions, class subject-specific instruction,
and CSU/UC transferable classes--Introduction to Research and
Honors Introduction to Research.
Library
Instruction Sessions (50 Minutes Each)
General
Overview of the Fullerton College's Online Catalog, Databases,
Internet, and MLA will be discussed.
Class
Subject-Specific
where specific research tools and materials will be discussed.
Library
Technology Courses (1 Unit)
CSU/UC
Transferable Course Work
A
one semester course that is designed to introduce the student to
traditional and electronic library research tools and resources.
Each student will prepare and compile a written bibliography of
relevant sources on a topic.
