Placing Holds

You may place a hold on a book that is currently checked-out. If a book is on the shelf, you cannot place a hold and reserve this item. You must come into the library and check the book out.

To place a hold on a book, follow these instructions. Please note that Reserve materials and books on order cannot be placed on hold at any time.

  1. On the Library Home Page, click on SEARCH | BOOK on the left-hand column.
  2. Search the online catalog to locate the item.
  3. Select Request an Item located at the top of the screen after you have found an item you want.
  4. Enter your student ID number located under your name on your Student ID.
  5. Type your last name into the 3rd box.
  6. Login.
  7. Select Hold as the type of request. Click OK.
  8. WebVoyage Request: Hold with the title of the item you are requesting will appear.
  9. Enter your Student ID number into the box.
  10. Submit Request located at the bottom of the screen.
  11. Your Patron Initiated Request was successful will come up.
  12. Either Log Out at the top of the screen or continue searching for additional items by selecting Back to Record.

Exit by clicking the top right-hand red button when finished using the catalog.
