Use library online
catalog to search
for books, ebooks, videos, DVDs, CDs and audio cassettes from the
collection of approximately 90,000 volumes. For more information about

Databases:
Ebooks and full-text articles from journals, magazines, and newspapers
are available through the online catalog. Search by keywords to find
articles in EBSCOHost, Proquest Newspapers, CQ Researcher, Opposing
Viewpoints Resource Center and more! Make sure you get the password
sheet from the Help Desk or Reference Desk for off-campus access.
Periodicals: What: The library subscribes to 214 magazines,
journals and newspapers. A list of these titles is available at the Help
Desk (2nd floor) or Reference Desk (1st floor). It can also be viewed
online (requires Adobe
reader). Where: Back issues of periodicals are on
the 2nd floor in front of the Help Desk. The most current magazine issues
are next to the lounge area facing the front window on the 2nd floor.
The latest newspapers are nearby on a rack next to the elevator. How
to Use: Periodicals may not be checked out. They are available
for use in the library only.
Microfilm: Looking for older periodicals? Periodicals
such as the New York Times from 1851 and the Los Angeles Times from 1970
are in microfilm format. The microfilm and microfilm readers are on the
1st floor near the Reference Desk. More info on microfilm readers.
Reserve
Materials: The library puts materials on
Reserve only at the request of instructors who supply the library with
the Reserve items. Students should not expect to find every textbook
used on campus in the Reserve Collection. To find which books your
instructor has reserved, please visit the online catalog and select
the Course reserve tab. Reserve materials are at the Reserves Desk
on the 1st floor. Reserve items are subject to different circulation
rules that are created by the instructor. Some materials are due
in two hours, one day or the following day. **Please read about
Fines & Fees to avoid problems with overdues.**
New
Books: The New Book shelf is on the 2nd floor near the
Copy Center.
Oversize Books: Oversize books are located after the
Z call numbers. Shelves are labeled with OZE then the call number.
Paperbacks: Paperbacks, mostly fiction, are located
on shelves behind the elevator on the 2nd floor.
Reference Collection: Reference works for library
use only are on the 1st floor. These works include atlases, encyclopedias,
almanacs, and more. Students can often use these books for statistics,
background information and preliminary research on a topic.
