Fines and Fees

All fines are calculated by including weekends, holidays and the hours the library is closed.

  • Two week general circulating collection item overdue fines are 25 cents per day w/maximum fee of $10.
  • Reserves: Two hour reserve overdue fines are $1.00 an hour.  Overnight reserves are $2 per day. Students can be charged the full price of the reserve item as an overdue fine.  Students who do not return Reserve material will incur late fines up to the cost of replacing the item with a new copy or version plus processing fees and overdue fines.
  • Two day general circulating collection items are $1.00 per day.
  • Students with fines of $5 or more may not check out any materials until the balance is paid for in full or brought under the $5 threshold. Also, a block will be placed on a student’s record until the balance is under $5.00 preventing the student from conducting transactions such as registering for classes or obtaining transcripts.
  • Refunds: Please note, fines and processing fees are non-refundable even if a book/item is found and returned in good condition. A refund will be issued for the replacement price of the book/item. Both the carbon copy library receipt and the cash register receipt are required to qualify for a refund. Refunds will not be issued for items returned after six (6) months from payment date.
  • Lost books: Current replacement price + $10.00 non-refundable processing fee + any outstanding fine.
  • Damaged books: If repairable, the fine is $10.00; if not, current replacement cost, plus $10.00 processing, plus applicable overdue fines.
  • Returned checks are subject to a $25.00 assessment fee and must be replaced with cash or money order.
