	As one of the oldest continuously-operating community colleges in California, Fullerton College possesses a historical collection that documents nearly a century of its history.  The Fullerton College Library selected images from its historical collection that vividly illustrate the societal changes that have occurred during the college’s existence.  The photographs, taken during the 1910s through the 1970s, include academic and vocational classes as well as sporting events, campus clubs, theatrical productions, and other extracurricular activities that reflect college life in this Orange County city. These selected photographs are part of the Fullerton College Library archival collection documenting student life and the history of the institution. The images were chosen for digitization to give users, particularly students, a sense of pride in and understanding of the historical changes that have transpired during the nearly one hundred years of the college. The Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) is a federal grant program administered in California by the State Librarian for the development of libraries. The Fullerton College LSTA project to digitize the historical photos was part of the California Local History Digital Resources Project (LHDRP) supported by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services. The digital images were created and cataloged using CONTENTdm, a digital asset management tool shared by LHDRP participants. As funding becomes available, the digital collection will grow in the future.
