Welcome to the home of the Library
Instruction Program. This Library Instruction Session (LIS)
Classroom is ideal for hands-on instruction. It contains 31
student computer stations and one teacher station. One
computer is dedicated to adaptive use.
The teacher
station is equipped with the SynchronEyes classroom control systems
software and an LCD projector. This classroom is designed for
LISs only.
Instructors may request a 50-minute
LIS at least one week in advance of their requested date and
time. Librarians design the LISs to support the instructor's
objectives, whether guiding students through parts of the research
process or simply introducing students to the library and its
resources. Instructors are encouraged to meet with the librarian
well in advance to discuss the specific sources, strategies or
topics to be covered or to collaboratively design the LIS.
During the months of October and
March,
the library also offers several different workshops on a walk-in basis.
Provided three times a day, these workshops are designed to address
the most pressing needs of students.
